KC Royals, The University of Kansas Health System and Carl’s Cause team up for first Mental Health Day at the K!

On July 27th, 2021, Carl’s Cause brought ‘mental health awareness to the stadium level’ with the first ever Mental Health Day at the K! A day where people of all ages and backgrounds helped break the stigma of mental health by talking about it and recognizing that it’s ‘ok to not be ok’. At the game, over 500 Carl’s Cause supporters filled the stands in green shirts for mental health awareness. Bob Specht, Carl’s father threw out the first pitch and his mother, Kelly Specht was in the Buck O’Neil seat.

KC Royals, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of KC and Carl’s Cause team up for second Mental Health Day at the K!

On July 23, 2022, Carl’s Cause teamed up with the KC Royals and Blue Cross and Blue Sheild of Kansas City, to bring awareness to the rollout of the national suicide and crisis lifeline – 988.
