Canyon Cares Golf Tournament

Canyon Farms golf club in Lenexa, KS held their inaugural ‘Canyon Cares’ golf tournament and dedicated the proceeds to Carl’s Cause. We made donations to NAMI of Johnson County, KS and Pathway to Hope in Overland Park, KS. We are proud that NAMI of Johnson County used a portion of the money to print brochures on “navigating a mental health crisis”, which has spread needed information to families facing a crisis.

Kansas City Chiefs Coin-Toss Captain

For the pre-season opener, Carl’s Cause was represented by Carl’s older sister, Megan, as she joined the officials and players on the field at Arrowhead Stadium for the coin toss, bringing mental awareness to the “Stadium Level.”

Carlsbad Sun and Surf Marathon
January 20th, 2019

Carlsbad Sun and Surf Marathon – Our family traveled to Carlsbad, CA to participate in the race with many of Carl’s friends from California. This is the second year they have had a team in Carl’s honor. It was a race he had set a goal to run in but did not make it.

Kansas State University Awareness Tailgate
October 13th, 2018

On Carl’s birthday, we held an ‘awareness tailgate’ at Kansas State University during a home football game in conjunction with mental health awareness week at the University. Carl’s Cause donated funds to Peer Advocates for Mental Wellness (P.A.W.S.) at KSU and ‘Katie’s Way’, an organization in Manhattan, KS that helps people ages 2 – 24 who are struggling with mental health issues.

Mental Health Awareness Royals Tailgate

We held a ‘mental health awareness tailgate’ at Royals stadium in conjunction with NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) of Kansas. Over 200 people attended to support us and raise awareness ~ and Carl’s Cause was launched!
